In Knowsley, 23% of the local population are children,
the third highest proportion out of 43 North West local authorities.

We very much recognise the importance of involving children and young people in the development of
services that affect them. Encouraging such participation is crucial to changing the culture of children’s and young people’s services and ensuring that those services respond to the needs of children, young people and their families.

Through talking to local children we know there are three fundamental things that are important to support them as they grow up.

That is that they should be SAFE, HEALTHY and LEARNING.
